Safe Space

I ponder what I cannot say
My words would douse like gasoline.
I silently scream my anger

We all struggle with such emotions
and misconceptions - including myself.
I ponder what I cannot say

We are individuals.
You say you are _____(insert ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or nationality)
I silently scream my anger

We need to interact - to live together
At least to lessen the misunderstandings and misconceptions...
I ponder what I cannot say

We are more than the categories
You say I cannot fathom, because I am _____ (insert ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or nationality)
I silently scream my anger

We cannot overcome our prejudices and divisions when
We repeat to ourselves what we cannot say to each other.

Hide in your safe space, while
I silently scream my anger.
